I got sucked into searching for funny youtube videos that show the MTA in action. This one is of a lady yelling about something. This is not so rare when you ride the bus a lot. (I will upload audio of a crazy woman cackling loudly… but in that case, she was happy, and just chatting with the bus driver like old friends!)
This argument isn’t really the MTA’s fault but people can certainly become crazy waiting for the buses that never come. It’s kind of like Murder in the First when Kevin Bacon gets put into solitary confinement at Alcatraz for 1,000 days and goes insane and kills someone… Christian Slater, his attorney, argues that “the system” drove him to insanity. That seems to apply here and in a lot of “angry passenger” cases - the MTA system is so frustrating that it can easily be blamed for causing psychological aggravation that pushes some people over the edge.
