Seeing this picture on the emergency instructions signs makes me think of what happened just before this picture. So what event led this poor fellow to be so close to large flames and running away from them. Yes, maybe the train is on fire, but let’s be more creative.
One possibility is that Jimmy Popsicle Stick was just minding his own business on the platform when bam, out pops Super Mario with fire ball powers. Mario is pissed and fires one at him. Jimmy has no choice but to outrun the fire.
Another possibility is that this guy attempted to board a subway car filled with angry, razor sharp ninja-stars. One of them stabs him through his chest (as you can see, the giant blade protruding in front as he is keeling over) and the rest follow him in pursuit… angrily.
